How To Make a PayPal QR Code

A PayPal QR code is nothing more than a standard QR code that happens to point at a PayPal payment URL. When someone scans it with a phone camera, their browser opens the PayPal checkout page so they can send money. The trick is getting the right URL into the right QR image. Below are the two methods most people use, plus the reasons to pick one over the other.

Method 1: PayPal's built-in QR code

PayPal's own mobile app includes a QR code feature tied directly to your account. You open the app, tap the QR icon near the top, and the app shows a personal code on screen. Anyone with a PayPal app can scan that code and send you money without typing your email.

This method is handy if you only need to receive a quick payment in person and you already have the app open. The downside is that the code lives inside the app. You cannot download it as a high-resolution file for a flyer, a business card, or a printed menu.
